Solid Plastic Glazing Sheet
Tubeway can supply several types of plastic sheet for glazing, screening and general purposes. Each type has different properties and pricing, all are glass-clear and about half the weight of equivalent thickness glass.
Acrylic (Perspex) is about 10 times stronger than float glass and is UV protected on one side so can be used facing the sun in household and outdoor projects such as greenhouses.
Polycarbonate is 200 times stronger than ordinary glass making it virtually unbreakable. It is UV protected on both sides, is a good insulator and resists chemicals.
Styrene is double the strength of glass but safer to handle when it breaks. Use indoors (e.g. picture framing).
Plastic sheet comes with protective film on both sides that can be peeled off during installation.
All 3 types can be bought in packs of multiple sheets, to different standard sizes. However, for secondary glazing projects we can also supply Polycarbonate in 2mm, 3mm and 4mm thickness, cut to your exact size.
